About
Who we are?
From flight students to airline captains
— we're here to help you do the same.
We're Jess and Gabriel — two airline captains who took the long way here.
Jess came from Malaysia. Gabriel from Ecuador. We both landed in the United States with the same dream: to fly for a living. No connections. No shortcuts. Just a goal and the willingness to work for it.
We earned our licenses, built our hours, and became flight instructors. Then 2020 hit. Aviation slowed to a crawl, and like so many others, we wondered if we'd made a mistake chasing this career.
We didn't quit.
In 2022, we finally got the call — airline jobs. We flew, we learned, we grew. And in 2025, we upgraded to captain. Jess at 29. Gabriel at 26.
That's where the name comes from. The Baby Captains — young pilots who proved that with enough dedication, the left seat isn't just a dream. It's a destination.
The Mission (Why We Do This)
Why Baby Captains Exists
We remember what it felt like to have a million questions and no one to ask. What ratings do I need? How do I pay for training? Is this even realistic for someone like me?
We built Baby Captains to be the resource we wish we had — honest guidance from people who actually walked the path. No gatekeeping. No fluff. Just real talk from two pilots who figured it out and want to help you do the same.
